Gabriella Toth R.TCM.P, R.Ac
Gabriella Toth graduated in 2003 from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson B.C. A 3,500 hour, 4-year program in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She received the Dean’s award for academic excellence. After graduation she was the recipient of a Rotary Cultural Ambassadorial scholarship which allowed her to live in Taiwan, study the Chinese language and complete a clinical internship in both a private clinic and complete advanced acupuncture training in a hospital in Beijing, China. In 2004 Gabriella completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in Thailand and taught both group and private classes for years. She incorporates therapeutic stretches and exercises into her treatments when appropriate.
Gabriella spent 5 years living and practicing in Edmonton Alberta. During this time, she was part of the Pediatric Integrative Medicine (PIM) Study Trial at the University of Edmonton Stollery Hospital which is the first trial of its kind in Canada to assess the impact of PIM medicine for hospitalized children. Education is also a keen interest for Gabriella, having taught both in the Herbal Apothecary at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS) and at the ACOS Teaching Clinic in Nelson BC in her role as Clinic Supervisor.
Gabriella believes in lifelong education and continues to take every opportunity possible to further her studies in Chinese medicine. She has completed post graduate studies in obstetrics and gynaecology, infertility, diet and nutrition, pediatrics, sports medicine and facial rejuvenation. She has studied under many esteemed teachers including Paul Pritchford, Sharon Weizenbaum, Debra Betts, Suzanne Robidoux, Dr. Huang Huang, Heiner Fruehauf to name but a few.
Currently in her 15th year of practice, Gabriella prides herself on both thorough and effective treatments. She brings compassion to her work and strives to do the best that she can for each individual patient. She believes in true collaborative medicine and bringing a team approach to her patients as she feels this is most beneficial. She is excited to be part of the team at Head 2 Toe.
Gabriella is especially passionate about empowering individuals to become active participants in their health and has chosen this field out of a genuine passion for helping others. Gabriella lives with her husband and 2 daughters in Pass Creek and loves the people and community of Castlegar. She looks forward to the privilege of working with you.
